Stranded

I am stranded today. My keys are in Allan's truck hours away and my car is sitting in the garage taking the day off. I do not like this Sam I am. But on another note I am getting some good reading in blog land today.

So give me some suggestions. Link your blog in the comments section or suggest one of your favorites. Tell me what you like about it too if you'd like.

  1. I love days at home. With three teenagers, I am on the go constantly. Most of the blogs I loved are gone. Still looking for more.

    1. Rose, I guess I would like them too if I didn't have teenagers also. Mine just don't understand when the Mom Taxi is down, LOL.

  2. I am almost ALWAYS 'stranded'...and I love it. We too have 3 teenagers, so when Monday rolls around and if the stars align and no one is home but me, I REJOICE!

As for blogs, I am with Rose, many I loved are gone, or have changed to a point where I no longer read them. I like blogs that are real and less story-like or constantly feel like they have to wrap up everything in a pretty little bow. Real life can be like that sometimes, but more often than not it isn't.

If you are looking for good reading however, you can read older blogs that are now inactive. There is still so much to learn from them. Susie for example, who left a comment recently on one of your posts, has a great blog...and they are still doing ttwd over 4 years in. My suggestion is to find older blogs as well and start close to their beginning. Read their failures and their triumphs, that way if you struggle you know you aren't unique that way.

I suppose that won't help with your getting to know bloggers, BUT many will still answer emails. I can give you a list of great blogs from the past, but I am still searching for newer ones myself.

  3. Willie, I am right there with you on "real" blogs. I'm not so much for stories. Although I totally respect the writers ability to articulate such wonderful stories I prefer to feel like I can connect. There is nothing quite like when you have that moment when you feel like "Hey, I feel that way" or "Hey, they really understand how I feel".

  6. I don't like to feel stranded ... even if I decide to stay home. I just don't like the idea that I can't go, even if I don't go. Does that make sense? Of course I'm home a lot really, so the actual being home part wouldn't bother me. I've been trying to catch up on some blogs today myself. ;)
